Two guys in full sky gear flew past me going up the goyt Valley outside Buxton this afternoon. Wasn't your usual uber fan wear. They had the lot. Team Kit, team bike, team helmet etc and they were rapid. Anyone else see them and anyone know who it might have been? They were too quick for me to check

Except for the rapid part they sound like your typical sportive riders...English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

If not racing most of Sky are in Tenerife, except Wiggins. I'd go with Grills suggestion.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0

Currently the team is split between California, Romandie and injury/suspension. Anyone can buy a Sky bike. I know of half a dozen who have them.English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0

Yeah you see sky fans all the time with the pinarellos and bibs and tops but these two were different because they were so quick. Never seen anyone in the entire gear either inc team helmets. Also thought it was a bit odd two mates out together wearing the same full replica kit and matching bikes. Thought it might be Thomas. He was about the only one I could think of not racing or injured? Could have been anyone I suppose, just thought I'd check0

Sky are based in Manchester.

There's no riders, especially not a pair, around Buxton/Goyt part of the world at the moment.Follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/scalesjason - All posts are strictly my personal view.0 -
As sky are based in Manchester could it be back room/support staff?
Quite possible they would have full kit and bike as a perk of the job.

If so I need a job with them.0 -
Quick snoop of jscl's Twitter shows he works for British Cycling so I'll take his lead on it. I did also think it might have been support staff from BC or TS at the velodrome geoff, good shout.... They just didn't look or ride like your normal fan in replica kit but they could have been I guess. Either way, they left me for dead. Would have been better for the ego had they been pros0

Guess it depends how fast you were going0

Some guys from our club bumped into Sebastian Henao and AN Other today at the Rapha van on Mam Tor, so it was probably them.0

Check strava flyby, see if they're on it - http://labs.strava.com/flyby/0

Pretty certain I have seen the bearded guy in the pictures riding near Pott Shrigley before, my guess at the time was Manchester based support staff. Ian Stannard's Facebook has a fair few pictures of him at the top of the brickworks/long hill/cat an fiddle back from earlier this year, saw an interview in which he said he regularly trains there, not sure how that fits with being Essex based.0

They were out Sunday too. They passed me as I was stashing gilet and armwarmers outside the Legh Arms and again as I toiled up the Brickworks. Henao went by close enough to clock his name on his lid. I don't think the other rider was Oli Cookson who I have seen around a few times, although I didn't get more than a glance. Whoever it was was well in front of Henao and had to wait at the top by the farm for him which suggests it was a pro.0
