Im usually a strictly black man, timeless and elegant, however I fancy some of the white stuff for a new bike but I'm aware it can look pants within days. Any recommendations for something durable that will last the course?

Fizik Microtex or S-Works Roubaix, both are easy to clean using plenty of pledge and a microfibre cloth.

Roubaix is the suedey type finish eh? I thought Fizik microtex might come up it is quite robust.

Avoid the Zipp tape, certainly in white - of all the white tapes I used this was by far the worst, eastons offering was good.

Dont get me wrong this isn't for a a commuter or owt, rather a whimsical build that will be a vanity bike, but I'd still like the bar tape to remain virginal. :D

fizik microtex, though i think the name changed

hard wearing, stays white, if it gets grubby it cleans up very well with a bit of dilute washing up liquid (rinse well!)

Why not buy white in the same brand that you bought in black? If it worked for you. :?

Lizard skins dsp is pretty good, this is 1 year old (and not cleaned all winter) vs new

Until winter hit a quick wipe with a soapy cloth was enough to get it clean, I gave up by decemeber though so the above is the result of the last 4 months

Den, I was looking for something white, durable. Not what I usually use. The thread guided me to the Fizik, the Fizik is on its way. All is well/microtex ftw

Chris; the lizard skins stuff is nice but tre expensive! Got the aforementioned microtex delivered for under a tenner, result!

I don't think this is a very good advertisement for any white bar tape least of all Lizard Skins!

And never mind how tatty it is around the hoods despite not being very old!
    Faster than a tent.......

If you go agressively at Lizard Skins while cleaning it, where it breaks up around the hoods is what can happen (although not the reason in this case, unless it was from cleaning before giving up on cleaning). White tape is more prone to these kind of things of course as it requires more cleaning to get it looking like new.

I use white roubaix tape. if you clean it with soapy water it looks as good as new after 6 months. I recently changed mine (as we were fitting new STI's) and you could hardly see the overlap.

I do wear gloves always though.

I would rather it looked good as soon as I cleaned it, each to his own.
