Hi, hopefully someone can help me out.
I want to buy a bike stand for my OH's birthday as i'm fed up of him leaning it up against our living room wall for fear it may fall and get scratched in the garage !!
What would people recommend ? i know nothing about bikes so any help would be much appreciated.
I dont want to spend the earth but am prepared to pay for quality.
Thanks in advance

If you want it in the garage, then maybe a hook system on the wall for it would be a good idea?
Have a look at these websites-

If it is to be hung on a wall, then you could put an old piece of carpet or sheet on the wall to add protection to the bike from scratches.0 -
A couple of floor stand options. The second one lifts the rear wheel off the ground so will allow some minor maintenance to be done (such as gear adjustments & oiling the chain).

Has he got one bike or two? Some of the freestanding stands that take two bikes or ones that contact the floor and the ceiling are good.... if not a simple thing like the Pro Bike Display Stand is fine, that's the kind of thing you find loads of bikes stood up on in bike shops.0

From his pint of view the best birthday present from you would be to let him keep it permanently in the lounge, no bike should have to live in a garage"Arran, you are like the Tony Benn of smut. Get one of the pretty wall mounts, increasingly good looking.

The latter is surprisingly stable, so don't worry about knocking it over.Science adjusts it’s beliefs based on what’s observed.

Thanks for everyone's replies, much appreciated.MattC59 wrote:
I like the look of this, however he has a 'Giant' bike, (like the one in the link below ) and the frame is flat, not round like the bike in the picture. Do you think it would still fit ?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrevEA_X2R0 What about this one, it's freestanding, so you can plonk it anywhere and move it if you want it somewhere else very easily
I've got one of these and it's good, the only extra thing I did was order a roll of self-adhesive neoprene (that was the exact width needed from eBay), which I put pieces of where the bike contacts the rack, this made sure there's no chance of the bike getting scratched at all, cos I didn't want the slightest risk of this happening.0 -
