edited May 2014 in Road buying advice
After a long search and many hours reading the reviews in the April 2014 issue of Cycling Plus, I purchased a BMC Team Machine SLR02 Ultegra. It's an amazing bike, just as the reviews indicated, and weighs even less than the 105 version that was runner up for bike of the year.

Thanks to everyone at the magazine for helping me finalize my choice, and especially to Rob and Warren for their print and video reviews.

Please let us know how you're finding it in a couple of weeks, especially compared with anything else you've ridden! It'd be good to hear from an 'ordinary' rider's perspective. I'm hoping to buy one of these later in the Summer, but may end up going for the 105 version and buying Ultegra separately (works out cheaper?!)

    Have fun! :)
  • I'll keep you posted. For me it was cheaper to just buy the ultegra version rather than upgrade later. My LBS gave me a great price on it. I do plan a wheel upgrade at some point, too.

Is it comfy? I've been thinking about one of these. They look real nice, pics?

That was a Teammachine SLR01 not the SLR02 I think. If it was the one on the podium in the middle of the other bikes...I was in there as well yesterday looking at the same bike

  • Yes, it's very comfy. I've only had time recently to do a couple of short rides, but the bike handled beautifully and is very smooth. I'll try to post a couple of pics soon.
