Bike Box Alan / Mini One - help!

I have a bike box alan, and am now looking to purchase a car - the box fits in the 2006 and later mini one models but according to mini the cars made before this date are slightly smaller dimensions. Does anyone with this bike box know if it fits in a pre 2006 mini one?!

    Take the bike box along to a Mini dealer and find out?
