Are seagulls on Strava?

So there I was flat out on 3% downhill when something in the corner of my vision distracted me.

Two seagulls flying in formation about 10 feet away, looking at me like I am some sort of an alien.

I was flat out, trying to set a PR, but they just flapped a couple of times and dropped me.

I have done an athlete search under "Jonathan" and "Livingstone" but have found nothing.

Is this fair?

  • I thought all you had to do to lead a downhill section on Strava was eat a load of pies and roll down. Maybe the seagulls were looking for scraps from the pie pastry.

I once rode in a paceline behind 4 or 5 birds flying at about 50cm from the ground down a 5%ish slope. It lasted about 30 seconds, I was amazed and wished I had a Gopro.

Had a race with a buzzard recently. It kept flying to the next fence post and getting startled by my catching it up. This went on for about half a mile...

Not a flying encounter, but I was (somewhat embarrassingly) paced up a hill by a sheep for at least 1-2 minutes... narrow road with hedges on either side and the stupid bloody thing didn't realise it could just stop and let me go by. Eventually it found a driveway to escape into though!

Let me get this right, typo aside, you were following 4-5 birds and wished you'd had a grope? It's sexist attitudes like yours that cause women to organise things like the Cycletta and Sportiva rides. You disgust me. :D

Had a similar experience to this once. I thought said buzzard was just taking the pee and was going to flip him the bird, maybe tweet about it later. Then I realised he had aviary sharp beak.

Had a red kite follow me for about half a mile, while I struggled up Bledlow Ridge in the Chilterns.

Probably had me lined up for lunch, if I keeled over, which looked likely at one point

One of my most magical moments riding a bike was at night in the summertime a couple of years ago - following an owl gliding along, following the road between the hedgerows for what felt like ages (in reality it was probably only 30 seconds or so).

Stuff like that is what makes riding a bike special.

Am I the only one that finds it ironic that "littledove" is asking as to whether Seagulls are allowed on Strava?

I know Strava do running now, but flying?
