Did Sky lobby the organisers?
Apparently, they felt that Kwiatkowski wouldn't look stylish in the snow.
Anyhow, it's out.
New start at 15-15CET and it's just a 90 km dash, up and over the lightweight 2nd cat.

If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.0 -
Does TJVG start today or did he get the boot?“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0

No news yet. Nothing coming from BMC Towers, and they havent signed in yet with route shortened, and bus-train and automobile larks to the new start.0 -

It didn't suit the pure major power guys though, it was pretty technical in places. Tight corners, part of the route was a cycle path through a park...Correlation is not causation.0

And it’s been raining there - although the forecast for the afternoon is dry but very cold.0 -

I hope it is slick. Kwaitek and Uran have no fear on the descents. Some others do though.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I think it was your statement 'a track pursuiter like Ed Clancy'
Now IF you'd said 'a top track pursuiter who's in top shape ahead of the Olympics in 3 months time...' ie just like Geraint Thomas who won the prologue in the 2012 ToR...0 -
Not much interest in today's stage?
Brajkovic has abandoned, according to @CyclingUpdates
36km to go, Dillier, Vallee and Hollenstein have a gap of 1'52
The only climb - a cat 2 - starts any moment now0 -
"LIVE on Sky Sports, Highlights of every stage of the Giro".
Live highlights should be fun to watch.0 -
Gonna be a lively next 30k imo. Should be lots of attacking.0
-
Lampre taken over from Sky at the front of the peloton for Rui Costa. Kittel almost at the back of the group as the climb continues.0

Work keeps getting in the way of things0 -
Teabag Van Garderen off the back0
-
TJVG in a separate group, maybe recovering after yesterday.0
-
Kittel back in that TJVG group now as Lopez takes it up at the front for Sky. Less than 20km to go.0
-
Tschopp (IAM) goes on the attack. Good to see the home team have a go. 1km to the top of the climb.
Edit - Pinot next to go out front and chase, looking for some KOM points.0 -
Tschopp goes over in first place and will get the KOM jersey after today's stage from Pinot. Interesting to see how tricky this descent is. Weather looks good fwiw.0
-
AG2R rider down on one of the bends as Nibs heads down the hill and the others follow.0
-
Nibali stretching his legs on this descent. Always happy to give it a go on these. Lovely and safe roads and descents in Switzerland.Contador is the Greatest0

What a lovely descent.0

Always happy to have a crack you have Roche on the counter with a Garmin. Camera work not good for identification.
