Was wondering if anyone knew of any good starter cross road bikes at a decent price? Cheers

    What price is a descent price, 2nd hand or new? Carbon/Alloy, Discs or rim brakes? Alloy + Discs - New 2014 Boardman CX Comp starts at £600, Cannondale CaadX goes £800 to £1500, Carbon + Discs PlanetX is £999. 2nd hand things open up further.

    I bought a Dolan Multi-cross frame new for £100 off the Dolan eBay shop. Used spare and S/H parts to build it up, and also grabbed the chance to upgrade some of my road bike parts and move the old ones onto the cross bike. Ended up with a nice X-bike, an upgraded road bike and an empty spares box for a reasonably cheap price.

    I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

    I got one of these around this time last year, it's served me well for commuting all week, racing at weekends and the odd 50mile+ ride. It's pretty good value for money at this price!
