Wheelset Recommendation for 2010 Spec Transition S Works

I bought a 2010 Specialized Transition S works frame a couple of years ago and have only just gotten around to getting it built up.

I was hoping to use a set of Fulcrum Racing Zero's that I had but unfortunately the rear hub is too wide and the spokes just catch the seat stays.

Can anyone recommend a decent wheelset (ally or carbon) up to around £700 that would work with my frame?

Many thanks.

I think you are doing something wrong. A transition frame will have 130 mm rear dropouts and will take any road wheel...
Don't get me wrong, but if you don't understand what the problem is in this instance, I am not sure you should be building a bike yourself...

and the shop doesn't have a solution to the problem? There is only one road standard, 130 mm

  • There is nothing unusual about Fulcrum Zeros and they should fit any road from, mine have been in 3 frames so far.

I would try the wheels in another frame if you can, if all is well get you frame checked again.

    Only one option: Lightweights.

Assuming you solve the frame issue ....

That money will get you some really nice hand-builds on top quality hubs. In fact, you'd probably have a fair amount left over.

A frame like that needs deep carbon rims IMHO.
    Red bikes are the fastest.
