Garmin Edge Tips

Hi
I've just got a Garmin (touring plus). Anyone got any tips or ideas about how to get the best out of it? Things like whether the maps that came with it are ok or if there are any available that are better for cycling etc. Thanks in advance!

I don't have the touring plus - I have an 800.

I bought mine with the maps and I've had no issue with them.

Not sure of the screens you have configure on the Touring Plus. There was a thread a couple of weeks back in which people discussed the stats that they have visible during the ride. I found this interesting and if its relevant to your device it might provide some incite.

It's ludicrous that we have to scour the internet to find out how our Garmins work but they are notoriously bad at instruction manuals.

This site is a goldmine of Garmin 800 info and should be all you need and more:-)

Set the auto lap function to "per mile" for mile by mile info during analysis
