Corrosion on fsa slk crank

Hi all, I recently stripped out my fsa crank for the first time today and was horrified, it was swimming in water, bearing is knackered, none of that really bothers me as I will now check more often and I can replace bearings, my concern is that the crank arm where the bearing fits is badly corroded/pitted, should I be concerned or do anything about it .

Also on reassembly would you recommend lots of grease on all these components

Cheers all

This is why BBs should all have drain holes in them.

If the axle no longer fits precisely into the bearings, then it's no good. And yes, apply grease liberally to everything around the BB.

The drain hole is a fair point, I've used a CR1 this winter with Cruds and my BB is toast.
After finding water in the BB I started to remove the seatpost and leave the bike upside down after a wet ride, but this didn't save the BB. I found water in my RS80s and this has corroded the alloy rim and bubbled the carbon laminate, these were only used a couple of times in the wet, plus the headset had to be replaced too, all within a few winter months.
