How tight for QR and Drop out.

Hey everyone

Just a quicky but how tight should a rear QR Skewer be on a carbon frame.
I know it doesn't have to be "break your arm" tight but if I have mine tight-ish I can actually see the rear drop out move as its closed.
If I have it looser than id like the drop out doesn't move but I know it would be far to loose.
Is it normal for the drop out to move when the QR is closed ?

Thanks

QR should be tight enough to hold the wheel in place without movement - just like any other frame. The frame material is not relevant, it is designed for the purpose...

Campagnolo always used to say the lever of the skewer should leave a light imprint on the palm of your hand when fully pushed in.
Recipe: shave legs sparingly, rub in embrocation and drizzle with freshly squeezed baby oil.

Unless you have disc brakes then tight enough so your wheel doesn't move under braking or accelerating. If you have disc brakes you need them a fair bit tighter due to the much greater braking force.

Not that tight - based on riding from Geneva to Chambery with my front skewer not tightened at all.

With the clamp open so it's a straight line with the skewer tighten the "nut end" finger tight, then close the clamp. This should be tight enough.
