You need the membership card when you buy it, assuming your bike is over 300 quid why not just join?

Membership gives you access to a section of the British Cycling website where you print out a voucher - you then need to show this with your card to get the discount.

This is no longer the case. You now only need to present your membership card in the halfords store in order to access the membership discount. Are you a member of a club? If so, you get your first year Bronze for free anyway!
