loose cranks and clicking

Noticed a click coming from the BB aera only when pedalling. The rear hub is shot and needs sorting soon but that only causes a nasty clip or slip every minute or so. This click is constant. Both cranks arms have a bit of play in them. Can I tighten these easily?

    If your chainset is installed correctly and there is still movement I would suggest replacing the bottom bracket.

    yeah i've been thinking the same thing. chainset ok so BB next step. any idea how i can figure out which BB i have so i can order it and get the LBS to fit? its a 2007 scott s20 triple tiagra 9 speed. thanks

    Assume shimano 4600 tiagra bottom bracket..

    Check your chainring bolts as well as the BB and crank bolts as mentioned above.

    All bolts are good. Just seen how easy it is the replace hollowtech BB so going to order the tools now and look at changing this weekend. It has the following printed on the caps: SM FC5600 and bc1.37 24. Being a tiagra/105 setup on this bike.. is it ok to go for Shimano 5700 105 BB?
