Hi all

I'm looking to replace the brakes that came on my bike because they are so inconsistent.

I'm ideally looking for a set under £100.

Anybody know of any offers or can recommend a good brake set.

Cheers

Shimano Deore brakes are well under £100. They are just a tiny bit heavier and slightly less adjustable than the more expensive Shimano brakes.
  • Thanks mate.

I'm running some cannondale helix 6 brakes that came on the bike.

There ok when they work but seem to go spongy during a ride and I find myself pumping them to bring the bite back.

I'll have a look for some deore's, is it the set front and rear for under £100?

    Any links appreciated.

Wiggle had SLX for £96 for a set the other day. I posted a thread on it.

Thats a very good price for SLX.
I think I paid £70 for my Deores.

    Nope
  • Well fitted the slx this evening. After a little blast round the estate I'm more than impressed.

The stopping power of these brakes for the price you pay is second to none.

Thanks to ej2320 for the promocode too.

Thanks for all your input people.

Can't wait to get up the chase now.

Err no, the Deore's have the same stopping power, just are heavier and less adjustable.
