What 29er?

Right then. My employer is introducing the cycle to work scheme but it's only "cycle solutions". So I thought I'd dabble into the world of the 29er, but I'm limited to the "cycle solutions" website. Usual rules apply £1000 spend etc.
My shortlist is
http://www.cyclesolutions.co.uk/p66512/ ... ntain-bike
http://www.cyclesolutions.co.uk/p66148/ ... ntain-bike
http://www.cyclesolutions.co.uk/p65465/ ... ntain-bike
Or at the limit
http://www.cyclesolutions.co.uk/p66149/ ... ntain-bike
Or anything else of the website you could recommend

Rockhopper is the only one with XC32's as opposed to XC30's, so I'd go for that personally, pretty iffy selection for the money though on that site. And now you know, and knowing is half the battle

Good luck with Cyclesoloutions - I ordered a bike through them for £950 and they quoted 3 month delivery. So I looked at a few other similar spec'd options which were all 'out of stock' and was gently guided towards a few naff bikes that just happened to be in stock with Wheelies (their retail branch)! A few other colleagues got their first choice of bike bounced too.
i cancelled my order out of principal and bought a 2013 orange Clockwork S from Sunset cycles on an interest free deal over 18 months and ended up with a better spec of bike for similar monthly payments....
Good luck!I'm very responsible, whenever anything bad happens they always say I am responsible.....0 -

Yeah. Ain't heard anything good about them to be honest. If they can't get what I want, then I won't bother. I got my cotic anyway0 -
260 odd views and only 1 opinion on the bikes and 1 opinion on the shop. C'mon. Is it that the Rockhopper is that much better than the others that there is no need for more opinions? Or is it that because the price tag is not over £3000 nobody gives a shit?0

It's a cycle to work scheme. Ain't got no money to take nowhere0 -
Just because your boss has signed up to that shit scheme doesnt mean you have to use it. Get a credit card with a free balance transfer, an interest free or low interest loan from a shop or a cheap loan from the bank and buy the bike you want from the firm you want. Over 2 years you will pay roughly a similar amount per month as your boss takes out of your wages. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that the kickback your boss gets from cyclesolutions wont be coming out your wage packet.Fig rolls: proof that god loves cyclists and that she wants us to do another lap0

Orange Clockwork is a great bike if you don't pay full RRP. I've got the Clockwork S 2013 and the professional review on here is just boll'x. I've set a stack of personal bests on climbs and descents and haven't even even finished setting the bike up to my liking yet. 120mm forks on the S which may make a difference.... I've stopped riding my Cube Stereo since I got the Orange.
PS - I'm no Orange fan boy - I love linkages and hate the 5 :-)I'm very responsible, whenever anything bad happens they always say I am responsible.....0 -
