Reverb MMX remote

Could anyone tell me what is meant by mmx remote with shifter hardware?

Does it mean that the remote clamps to a SRAM shifter and not the bar? I just want a remote which will clamp to the bars.

The Shifter hardware attaches to the reverb clamp, which can also replace the clamp on an Avid brake. It will work just fine on it's own, afaik they all come as MMX mounts these days, even if you don't have Sram brakes/shifters
