Newb Compatibility Question

Apologies in advance if this is a silly question.
Had my handlebars/shifters stolen recently from my Boardman road bike. Bought all the replacements, including Campy Veloce shifters, without realising that I've got a Sram setup and it seems like you can't really mix the two?
So, if that's the case, would it be more sensible to try and return the shifters and get the Sram Apex double taps that cost £100 more (which I think was what I had before). Or would it be a bad idea to just buy Campy Veloce front/rear derailleurs instead?
I'm assuming considering the cost either way will reach nearly £100, the Sram is superior and I just need to bite the bullet

If you like the SRAM double tap shifting return the Campag as it is a different shifting method and keeping the SRAM would be the cheapest option IMO.0

You could look at this as the opportunity to swap to Campag if you want. Either way you will need to match shifters to mechs although there is a reasonable chance that you may get the front SRAM mech to work ok with the Campg shifters.
however the cassette spacing is different and whilst it can be overcome it won't save you any cash and will commit you to staying that way.
Sorry, just cough up for the SRAM shifters.
If you can get a refund, shop around. SRAM Rival is often nearly as cheap. Try Planet X0 -
Hi,
Another question. Looks like I'm going to have to flog these Campy ones on eBay, so I'm buying Sram shifters.
It looks like I currently have (or at least had) a Sram Apex setup. If I bought, say, Sram Red shifters - would they work? Or would I have to stick to Sram Apex?0 -
They would work but would cost a lot more.
I recently bought some Apex shifters from Ebay - new for £112 compared with about £190 for the normal price.0 -

Apex or Rival shifters should do it, AFAIK Red will only work with yaw front mech.0 -
I don't think new Red have a trim function. The 2012 and earlier versions do have the trim function, and will cost £100-150 versus the £200+ for the 2013 Red.
All the SRAM shifters pull/release the same amount of cable so you can mix/match their components.0 -
Thanks for the help, really appreciated.
I'm looking at a fair few on ebay - going to avoid the Red just to be sure but good to know Rival will be okay too.
Looks like I probably just shoulda gone straight here rather than buy them new. Hopefully can recoup some money on the Campy ones too0
