Cycleops Powertap G3 can't get the cap off

Hey, i can't get the cap off to change the battery. I've tried the tool but it keeps slipping do i have any other options? Cheers

    Just checking - you have unscrewed the endpiece before trying to take the PowerCap off?

    Sorry i mean i can't unscrew the top piece, the tool you get just keeps slipping

    The triangular shap of the endpiece means you'll need to use the removal tool.

    The removal tool will take a 18mm (I think) ring spanner / socker, but you're turning plastic against plastic so I would be wary of using too much torque....

    Yeah im using the removal tool but its just slipping as i must of worn away the inside a little or something. Is ther any other way of getting it off without damaging it?
