Are you sure you want a lightweight xc rim on a relatively burly trail bike? If you want Stans rims then the Arch EX might be a better choice.
The Anthem X29 is a very nice bike.

I wouldn't put Crest's on that, too lightweight and easy to damage.
If you're gonna go Stan's, either go Arch EX as above, or Flows, which are even burlier.
Couldn't tell you a performance difference as I've never ridden any Rovals.
Other options are out there, have a dig :)

Ive put ZTR Crest's on. Was going to buy Arch EX's but the lbs mechanic pointed out that all uk trail riding is basically cross country! Unless you are doing Alpine descents on a regular basis or use you bike for proper downhill, I wouldn't go over kill. Im more than happy with my crest and I hammer them. A lot stronger than you think.

You peeps think the stumpy ht is a bit burly. Comes in just under 25 pound in a large frame. So stans arch ok cheers

Yeah, the stump jumper ht is a cross country bike, crests will suit it perfectly

I have stans arch ex on my Santa cruz nickel. Great wheels. was tempted by crests but do a lot rooty / rocky stuff here in the N.E of Scotland.

Which Rovals? Some have very good reviews.

They are roval control trails. The reason I,m thinking of changing is the hi lo hubs spesh use are not that good I know from previous experience. Spose I could lace better hubs to the rims. Just would like to drop a lil more weight of the bike. Especially the back end. Don't get me wrong as a stock bike it's great. Running tubeless as well which has been great.

What's previous got to do with now? If these are working then all's good right?

Wait until you get problems. Then think about upgrading/changing. These are good wheels. You don't stand to lose that much weight for the outlay unless you go pretty exotic.

Agree with the consensus, don't change those for the sake of it, you won't gain much.

Rockmonkey gave you his thoughts on the Anthem 29er, at the end of the day you need to ride one.
