so I am buying a new bike in the sub 500 region but not a clue where to start!!!!
I will be mainly using it for commuting but will also want the occasional off road experience.
I love a bargain so same bikes are what I have been considering but there is well too much out there to know where to start......
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

Specialized Hardrock is a okay bike.0

Choose a bike that fits you the best
Try decathlon, halfords or your local bike shop0 -

Yes it is, just not much in the value stakes0

Hard rocks are fine, just not as good value as they were a few years back. The most important thing is the bike fits you well.0

Been in a similar situation myself.... Today after many days of research and umm'ing and ahhh'ing i bought the Carrera Vulcan from Halfords. Cracking looking bike.... cant fault it so far. The Calibre two two seems to be a popular choice to from Go Outdoors. If my local Go outdoors store had them in stock i almost certainly would have gone down that route.

I hope this helps!

Hardrocks are equipped with atrocious forks, are bikes to avoid.0

Poor fork - look for a bike with a fork with hydraulic damping.0

I've been in Go Outdoors this afternoon and had a look at the Calibre Two Two. It appeared absolutely superb for the cash (£360 or 370, can't remember).0
