That's my kind of bike. Class, sheer class. That will ride beautifully and last for decades. Well done.0

That is beautiful, very retro understated. A Rapha jersey, or any retro styled one, would look great to ride in.0

Nice, but don't confuse Fausto Coppi with Felice Gimondi... if you are after a Gimondi look, then it's a "felicino" and not a "faustino".
Completely different personalities... one was a bit of a paparazzi's dream, kind of superstar, while Gimondi was more like a monk. Gimondi was an immensely talented rider, who happened to find Eddie Merckx in his strides. He would have won lots more races otherwise.left the forum March 20230 -
Ugo - thanks for the intel much appreciated. I named the bike after reading Fausto's biography 'Fallen Angel'. As a professional cyclist and pioneer he is very inspiring. Also when Bianchi and the celeste colour came into the ascendancy. The stuff with his wife and the mistress are tragic. I was wondering what the chap in the photo's name was. Will read up on his story and consider a final name choice accordingly.

In my view Gimondi is one of the all time greatest and second to none. His palmares include all the Grand Tours and many of the classics... world championship, he won it all at a time when some of the all time greatest were around.
In Italy his opinion is still highly regarded and when he speaks generally people pay extra attention.left the forum March 20230 -

Hi Ugo - I bought Pedalare Pedalare and read the chapter on Gimondi and the Cannibal. Fascinating stuff - especially his patience to go and win races after Merckx was waning. Love the fact his Mama was a Postina! Are there other books on Gimondi you recommend?0 -
If something comes to mind I'll let you know. I am sure Gimondi is very pleased to have a new fan.
There is a granfondo in Italy named after him:

Would love to make that trip some year. Have decided to go for this retro jersey:

instead of this one:

I still have total respect for Coppi but like the less obvious reference to Felice.0 -
