New Rear Shock Needed

The Rear shock on my faithful mongoose teocali has reached "retirement" (its a MC3.1). It has air in the damper and is behaving badly and TF tuned have advised me that is an UN-ecnomical repair at best.
Money is a little tight, so FOX is out of reach unless it is second hand.
TF recomened a Monarch RT3 but I am wondering if the R or RL would be just as functional for a lot less
Rose sell the RT3 for ~ £190 the RL for ~£140 and the R for ~£115
I have never really used the floodgate on old shock and am thinking that the RL would suit my needs. As far as I can tell there is not huge differnce between them ?

RT3 has open, pedal and lock damper settings. RL has open or lock. R has a fixed setting.
I have the RT3 and it's a very good shock although I never use lock.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350 -
fox are pish anyway lol
RT3 would be my choice if money is tight - make sure you get the correct tune for your bike though0 -
The damping on the rt3 is actually different to the damping on the rl, so it's actually better in the open mode- its not all about the 3 settings0

That is what I was wondering about.
Medium tune is right for my bike, ATM I run 125psi on the MC3.1 to get 25% sag.
Money wise the RL is probably the best I can afford.0 -
The thing is I don't really think that I need a lock out and I only ever used the floodgate on my mc3 if I remembered to LOL. So I am leaning towards the Monarch R which at £115 looks very appealing0

I may be wrong but I think the floodgate is fixed on with the monarch r.Transition Patrol - viewtopic.php?f=10017&t=130702350

Ok I have decided on the RL as that's the most I can afford, especially considering the cost the the new shock mount hardware !!
My current shock takes 12mm bushes and the monarch is 12.7mm. The mounting kit I need is M8 x 19mm. And of course I can't find the Rockshox versions in the UK which would have cost £18. The only place I can find the right size is TF tuned and that's gonna set me back £33.
Anyone know an alternative supplier ? holding the parts in my hand I am thinking £33 for that !!!0 -

Any particular Germans, Rose did not have the correct sized mounts. The Americans of course have them but after postage and the import tax it works out as expensive.0

Bike components have them, £27 including shipping though suppose its better than £33 but still £10 for shipping 6 small pieces of metal !!
Found the Monarch RL £10 cheaper at Bike 24
If only Chainreaction would stock the 19mm ones this would be so much cheaper !!0 -
Found on bike-discount for £21 including delivery0
