REtul bike fit!

This system is a farce. All that they do to you is say that you are too low on you seat and plug you new products during the process. I was left £150 out of pocket and came away from the process with my saddle 3cm higher than before causing back pain.

Great first post. Did you ask for a refund?0

I had the opposite experience, but then again I needed the fit to get precise geometry etc for a bike I am having built rather than adjust an existing bike.0

I've been saying this for over a year (and had a similar experience). Who did your fit?English Cycles V3 | Cervelo P5 | Cervelo T4 | Trek Domane Koppenberg0 -
Ahh that's not what I wanted to hear, planning on getting one of these done. I feel you should ask for your money back, service not as described.Canyon Roadlite AL-Shamal Wheels-Centaur/Veloce Group

I had mine done by the Shed in Hereford. Very good service that i'd recommend to anyone. Positioning on the bike is now much better & was give a printout showing all my angles/measurements before & after.0

I had one done and it was useful. I guess it depends who's doing it.0
-
That's also what I've heard about the Retul system, think I will still recommend a GOOD fitter with a bike jig.0
-
It also depends on how well you have setup your own bike already. If it is already well setup along retul lines there may be little adjustment needed.0

My retul fit stopped my knee hurting on long rides. It seemed like good money to me. I was pretty close with my setup, he only moved a few things a few mm and a 10mm shorter stem.Trek 1.5 Road

And just how many rides or what distance have you tried since you had your fitting?0 -
Clearly this bloke isn't very good at writing a useful post, your missing so many important things like, who did fit, where it was done.
What did the process involve .
They wouldn't just put your seat up 3cms. There's no way in hell you would get to that point in a fit where guy hasn't noticed other adjustments that could be used.
Or you got conned by bloke and his laptop pretending to offer a retul fitLondon2Brighton Challange 100k!

I'm pleased with the Retul fit I got, saddle went up, forwards and I got a longer stem. I'm more comfortable and more powerful now.0

You realize retul is just the tool? They do not supply training just the tools, its down to the fitter to fit correctly0

There are courses, whether they are run by retul or not I'm not sure. My experiences were good but it's like any service there's the bad ones and the good ones. Im stating the obvious but its always better to go on recommendations. You could also ask to see the qualification of the fitter.0

Mine was pretty much a waste of money too. It was an interesting and enjoyable experience, but I've since changed almost every aspect of the set up I was given and I'm now really comfortable.
I'm a little cynical of the 'science' aspect of it too, which charts what's wrong prior to adjustments being made, yet doesn't then re-check to show that those adjustments have improved matters.
If I was ever to go for a fit again I'd want a lot less computer mapping and a lot more personal impression and experience, but then I guess an old boy in a club could give you that for free.
Ps. Mine was about lowering the saddle and tilting it upwards, neither aspect of which I ultimately stuck with.0 -

The guy I saw was an absolute gem, was clearly passionate about what he does, and was highly experienced. The system did, however, ignore a major aspect of what makes me comfortable on a bike - the position I need to be in so that I'm not over tensing my shoulders (amongst other things).0
