Tyre choice for London to Paris charity ride.

I am riding to Paris at the end of the month.
I will be giving my bike a full service this weekend to include fitting new tyres. I have ridden in South France where the roads are superb. I have heard the country roads are not so good in Northern France. Is there any truth in this ? If so, should I fit my new 23's or 25's ?
Many thanks in advance.

Hey, maybe you haven't been keeping up on current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal!

IMHO...go for the 25's ; similar rolling resistance, more volume, comfier ride, more puncture-resistant, or so its' said..If Wales was flattened out, it'd be bigger than England!

Btw...rode through France last year (Cherbourg to Nice) and tbh didn't notice any significant difference in road quality from North to South...apart from the SE side of Mt.Ventoux, where they were laying brand new tarmac ready for the TdF, a few weeks later! If Wales was flattened out, it'd be bigger than England!
