Finally for once i decided to stop during my cycle today and take some pics, its not that often i get out for a run on my own but today was to good to miss.
Blue skies, no wind, sunshine, mountains, steep climbs and fast decents. Really doesn't get any better, epic day

Do you have a blog?
Quick tip, don't put the bike in the centre of the frame.I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
nope no blog and yes I'm crap at taking pictures hence why i don't normally do it. Shame though as I'm normally out once a week on some cracking routes around aberdeenshire0

Phenomenal day today in Lancs for a ride too. Been a long time since the sky was all blue and there was no wind.
I took the time to stop on my ride this afternoon. Sometimes its all hammer down but you appreciate your surroundings on a stop or two.0 -
You didn't drink very much?"You really think you can burn off sugar with exercise?" downhill paul0

That was only 15 miles in and by the end of it both bottles where gone.
I tend to only need 2 bottles for a 60 mile trip.0 -
Agree, a lot of the time it's head down and concentrate on times, today was more concentrating on hills and enjoying the views. Got the 3pistes sportive coming up soon so it's all about finding climbs at the minute, I know I can do the 100 miles but it has three mountain ranges to cover which may be the death of me0

You've wrecked those shots with the pink handlebar tape.
It's a gorgeous area of the world. Apart from doing the Etape Caledonia and despite visiting that area quite a few times, I have rarely cycled there - need a truck to fit all the kids, missus and my bike in.
Always fancied the ride from Pitlochry to Calvine, over the top to Aberfeldy and back round to Pitlochry.
Have you done the ride over/up to the ski station on the A93 through the valley of Glenshee? Looks a brutal climb.
Clicked the Garmin link, not a bad average for such a hilly ride. Must be go faster pink handlebar tape.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0 -
Ta, wasn't a bad average but again I was just out to slog out some hills. I have done the glenshee road before, and yes it's a brute, the one up to the lecht is worse though. You should check out the route fir the 3piste sportive in June that I'm doing. 100 miles starting in Pitlochry and riding over glennshee the lecht and finishing at the top of cairngorm. 4 20% climbs over the highest roads in Scotland. Going to be a cracker0

Oh and meant to say, the pink bar tape rocks. It matches the Rapha pink stripe on my super acciaio. Some people can get away with it, some can't I guess0

Glenshee descents are amazing though - proper 80+ kph stuff for ages.
Great pictures, even with the pink vandalism!0 -

I hope you were wearing Rapha pink pro team socksI'm sorry you don't believe in miracles0 -
Thankyou for posting your adventure. You have a very handsome looking bike. Love the pics
Could you tell me what 'Bar Tape' you have and how it feels without gloves on please.0 -
It's the fizik performance tape. It's pretty grippy and so so for comfort. Think I may have it wound a bit to tight though which is removing the comfort benefits. I use gore xenon gel gloves though I still like it. Plus it's the exact same colour as the pink on my bike tehe. It's actually not as bright as the picture makes out though.
Glad you like the pics and the bike, it's was a long time to build and as far as I'm concerned it's perfect. Full 3t ltd carbon kit along with full dura ace 11. It climbs better than any bike I have ever ridden0 -
I think Doris Day was being slightly sarcastic Focus-rider. Never mind, maybe you sold him the idea of the pink stuff you put on your handlebars.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Och, ya makin' me homesick. I recognized the bridge, and immediately knew it was Deesside. I grew up around there and one day hope to move back!
Looks like a lovely ride and a rare blue sky day. Tough route mind!0 -
Spot on with deeside, the bridge picture is just before the big climb if the day. It's not to tough a route, I did it in the opposite direction the week before but fancied trying it this way for a change. It's used for the alford kom sportive and a dam good training run as it has a bit if everything in it. Beautiful area if the world though, you where lucky to grow up there0

oooh you lucky bastard!0
