Great looking bike, I much prefer this to the celeste Bianchi paint jobs.

:D To be honest I fully expected to get the bike home and put campagnolo on it but I have to say, having never used sram red before and expecting to dislike it, ive been amazed at how well it works and it seems to match the colour scheme pretty well. I'll keep it like it is until I can't take any more 'it's not celeste' and 'it's not got campag' comments. Probably wont be long then! :D

Lovely bike, my boss has one of these and I am a tad jealous. And nothing wrong with putting SRAM Red on a top end bike, even if it is Italian (flame suit on).

I really like the matt black paint jobs on the Oltres - very 'Stealth Bomber', not so sure about the turquoise efforts (is that celeste?)

Final weight is 6.6kg. Think I could get it lower with carbon bars and stem, but I'm pretty happy with the zipp set up. Thanks for the nice comments guys.

Not having celeste is the biggest crime by far.

I think that having SRAM on a bianchi is a lot worse than having shimano, though.

Anyway, that sort of thing is all nonsense really, provided that one is happy with one's bike... Which the OP shouldn't be, because it is all wrong wrong wrong!

    Fine looking bike chap!!
  • Are those crank bros pedals? Are you Freddy Rodriguez or something?

Please forgive the pedals. I had a pair of sidi dragons for the mtb and didn't want to not use such an expensive pair of shoes. To be honest, I find they work really well.

Stunning. I like celeste but its a nice change to see something different. At 6.6 must be a great ride. Ive got dura ace di2 and sram red. Apart from the sram being noisy its got a great feel to it. Think you got a cracker there.

    A beautiful bike, well done!

I do like the new Infinito CV as well. Bianchi do make some stunning frames.

Cheers Richard. I love it. I've since put some FSA k wing bars on it. The red and white matches the bike perfectly. I'll put another photo up later.

Very nice, my (far cheaper) bianchi is red, with black carbon forks and rear stays, but have celeste saddle, bar tape and bottles & cages which I think goes quite well, and it came with Ultegra. I reckon more are specked non Campag than with Campag these days. All Bianchis have a bit of celeste somewhere in the paint work.

Decided to spend a bit on the oltre. Changed The Reynolds Assaults to these Fulcrum Tubulars and put FSA K light wing bars and a Deda Superleggero stem on it. Also put on Bontrager XXl stem and Selle Italia SLR Teckno full carbon saddle. Got the Sram red cassette but need a new freehub, as the wheels came with a campagnolo one.
Weight is down to 6.1kg. Hope to change the pedals to Look Keo Blade 2 which will hopefully get it down to my 6kg goal :D

Stunning, the non matching bars and stem play havoc with my OCD though.

I have an Infinito in the same colour scheme and have over specced it with a view to upgrading the frame some time in the future (Dura ace groupset, handbuilt wheels, K force gear etc) had thought a Specialissima might be the way to go when the frame prices become human but your bike has got me rethinking that.
  • Cheers. The bottom pic still has the zipp stem on it. I know what you mean though, i'd like to put an FSA stem on it but it'd be heavier and then it would either match the seatpost or the bars but not both. I'm not sold on the Specialissima yet, but that might change when i see one in the flesh.
