Carrera Vulcan

Bought this today for £80. Anyone know what year it was made?
The previous owner thought it was a good idea to paint the pedals, crank arms and the bottle cage (without removing them)
Luckily I had some anti-graffiti wipes in work with me
Changed a few things just to put my own personal stamp on it i.e. bars, stem and seatpost all in white. Also removed reflectors and bell

Yeah. I got a pair of 2.1 nobby nics I think I'll put on instead0 -
They dont look too good on there...
It may have worked if you had black rims but skinwalls usually only look nice on old school bikes.
Did you just buy them for this bike?0 -

No. Had them on my Soul. I did try them with my spare wheels off the Soul which are black and they did look okay. In process of putting the Nobby Nics on now0 -

Just forks and brakes away from a good useable bike!
My son had the same model (colour) until it was stolen.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0 -

Haha nothing.....Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

I have one and its ok, forks are to be changed with XCR versions on mine.0

Any damped fork is a great upgrade on the Vulcan, the XCR is usefully lighter than the XCM as well.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

That's one if the few times where I would change the brakes before the fork, those cable disc brakes scared the bejeeezus out of me.0

I have actually seen so many of these exact Carrerras with dodgey looking blokes riding them. Squeaky chain, buckled rear wheel etc... very obviously stolen. You even get the odd one where he has got his mate sitting on the handlebars. Looking for another bike to steal i suppose!
It is a good looking bike, so not too surprised.0 -
Not in any rush to upgrade. Will only be used to tow my daughter in her trailer, maybe the odd blue run. Will use the Cotic for anything serious offroad0

Decided I didn't want it so sold it £1700
