Something a bit different.... loved my Trigon RQC29 so much, have gone for their new Aero frame:

Well, I'll just reverse the front wheel and at least it'll match.

That's pretty smart. It definitely needs deeper wheels though.

Is that a garmin mount with things either side to fit lights? Or is it just my eyes playing tricks?

It's just a Trigon handlebar extension to mount a computer and maybe a shopping basket :D

Gotcha. I'd swap that for a simple garmin out-front mount, personally. Unless you need to mount other things as well?

It'll be fine with the branding on the top

Just had to pop to shed to make sure mine are the right way! Phew! You should've gone to cycle clinic :P

I did a quick survey of my other wheels - and most are like my Archetype rear!
There is probably a rule somewhere, but I'm a bit happier now.

As for the frame paint job, yes, not as nice as the "29", the font of "Trigon" isn't particularly nice, but overall it's growing on me.

Are you sure you haven't fitted the front the wrong way round? One way or the other it doesn't matter, there are pros and cons in the way they look either way, as long as they match... I can't believe a builder would allow himself to build them un-matched. If that's the case, you can still swap the front, but then the hub logo will be the wrong way round... less annoying though...

The front was the right way round, the wheels aren't built consistently.
Not happy with the build (but won't name and shame), needed truing after the first ride and the spoke tension is too low.
So now the hub is the wrong way around, but luckily the Via hub has a very subtle graphic so difficult to pick out.
Blimey, I should listen to myself! This is very OCD!!!!

I maybe wrong but if you take the wheel and skewer out turn the wheel round then put the skewer back in won't the names match up then?

Yes, thanks, did that, but the hub is now the wrong way around.......minor detail (for some :-) )

Why not? If it was Planet X you would be all over the place, wouldn't you? I appreciate you don't want to ruin someone's business... but if that someone makes two mistakes, one of which is amateurish but forgivable in the great scheme of things, the other one is more fundamental, maybe he shouldn't be in business after all...

Because to be fair to the guy, I have't given him the opportunity to put it right.
Quicker to true and tension them myself. But yes, a bit galling that I could have probably built them better initially.
  • I've just got one of these, it's fantastic. Much better than expected. Had a Caad10 sram red and defy advanced force and 437 is a better bike than both. Zipp finishing kit and 11 speed Sram force. Cero 50mm carbon wheels.
