Question rephased: Are there any real benefits upgrading from Shimano R501 to let's say Fulcrum Quattro, 5 or 3 other than bling effect?

Use the search function. Or even just look at the last two pages of threads on Road Buying Advice. You'll happen across many threads asking precisely, or nearest dammit, the same question.

Wheels/tyres make the biggest diferrence. Going to deep sections for the first time is great.
Wiggle are doing 35% off Fulcrum wheels at the moment.

  • In my experience, I think Changing tire is more better than change wheels.
I think Most people don't feel upgrading benefits.

I would upgrade the tyres for performance and the wheels for appearance.

I do not see appearance as at all secondary. Its great to do both.
The wheels will likely perform better, just don't quantify it too much.

Thanks for the advise and tip. I'm currently using Continental GP 24 mm (the classic version).
