Ultegra 6870 RD Reset

So I had a crash tonight and its fair to say the bike came off a lot worse than me.

The 6870 rear derailleur went into its crash protection mode and I cant work out how to reset it back to normal or find out anywhere online. Does anybody on here know what i need to do?

I think you press and hold the little button on the front junction box for 5 seconds or something? Failing that some people have said if it doesn't work, pull the battery and then retry. Think when it does it's reset, you have to have bike on stand and be turnign the pedals to allow the thing to cycle up and down the cassette a few times to do it's thing.

thanks. That seems to have done the trick, had to pull the wheel out as the hanger was bent and the mech was in the wheel on the lower gears.
