Hi.
Not sure where to start really!
A few weeks ago I had my first seizure/fit. Ive now been stopped from driving due to the possibility of it happening again, however ive been a full on mountain biker for many years but now find myself worried about going out riding by myself. Has anyone have this same problem and if so what do you do to keep safe etc?
any advice would be very welcome.
P.s. im a fit 48yr old with no other health issue's just this.

I think it would be wise to find a pal or group to ride with, and make sure you let them know of your condition, just in case anything happened. Good luck matey.Paracyclist

Do you know what caused it? Surely have seen a doctor?0

Don't be hasty. Any new diagnosis is going to be worrying. The information advice and reassurance you need should really come from qualified medical personnel. I suspect more tests would be needed to establish why it happened . I am a nurse myself and would advise seeing your your gp or consultant .0

Got my appointment for specialist, they dont know what caused it, apparently its something that can start at any point. Stress, anxiety, illness anything really.0

This is the best advice and you are doing the right thing seeing a specialist.0 -
This has brought a few memories back ?
I had a fit at age 30, 22yers ago .
I was fit and healthy but had recently lost my Man and was unkowingly under a lot of stress.
Apparently I had sufferd a "Fainting Fit" where basicly your body shuts down under stress and a fit ensues.
I suffered migranes for a while during this time and was very very anxious as to what was wrong with me.
Fortunatly I have never had another fit and ony a few migraine problems.
Take care for the next few weeks , I walked a lot with friends .Confidence is the thing, riding would not be a great idea if your mind is elswhere .
Logicaly, if it is not safe to drive it is probably a risk to ride.
regards
