I'm planning on returning to cross racing this year so have just picked this up:
Boardman CXR 9.2
I'ts currently set up for the road to get a few hours in and give me an opportunity to tweak the position before I put the knobblies back on and hit the trails.
I changed the stock saddle for a Specialized Romin Evo and put on some XT SPDs.
Changes to come:
Chainrings - Will change to 34 x 44 WickWerks (The only ones available for the SRAM Force 22 Chainset)
Cassette - Probably to something like a 11-26 although the 11-34 will go on for the 3 peaks if my entry is accepted.
Wheels - Need something lighter for racing so probably Stans Iron Cross on hubs TBD
It's my first bike with SRAM so it should be interesting getting used to the shifting.

They're BB7s, they still need bedding in but they have a nice smooth action on them.Nil Points0

Unfortunately it hasn't had much use yet, it was supposed to get its first race tonight but I picked up man flu
The bit of off roading I've done so far hasn't been that technical but so far it has been faultless. I've now got more appropriate chainrings on; 34x44 Wick Werks and have fitted a Speen Umlenker to convert the front derailleur to top pull. The stock wheels are very hefty so the next upgrade will be some race wheels. I'm fairly happy with the SRAM, I don't think it would sway me away from choosing Shimano if I was building a new bike but having played with it for a bit it wouldn't stop me from buying a complete bike with SRAM if it happened to come with it.Nil Points0 -
