Shimano I spec brakes

Hi all,

My old m765 xt brakes have died and am looking at some new slx brakes.

Then I come across this whole i-spec thing. Despite reading stuff on the interweb my slow head is none the wiser.

In a nutshell can Ii use old xt M765 shifters with new slx brakes?

Advice much appreciated.

    If they're the integrated setup (dual control) no.

    Not dual control (ST) then yes you can.....
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.
