5.85kg as is, ready to roll but no bottle!

Wheels very nice, no lighter than Mavic Ultimates, but stiffer and more comfortable, strangely, even though I'm running a touch higher pressure. Spin smoother too.

That is the dogs bollocks, like the colour scheme a lot.

What are the other components on the bike apart from the wheels (tubs I presume ) ? , very very light.

    We'll jealous, enjoy !!!

    The flowers or the bike?!

Yes, tubs. Sworks crankset with Qrings. DA 9000 all round. Use post and AX Lightness saddle. Syntace bars and Zipp stem. Look Keo 2 Blade pedals.
Tempted by some lighter brakes which would save another 150g over DA, but that's about it!
  • That wrap of bartape is almost as fat as the downtube!

Wheels look good on that frame though.

It's just a thin wrap of Fizik Microtex - the camera had a fish eye lens, so I think it's distorted it; photography was never my strong point....

Just to show that the bar tape is NOT PHAT!

    Non fish eye lens;

    Thanks for the comments!

As I am light and don't make much power, the bike needs to be light too!

And it does help, especially climbing with a tailwind. 1kg saved for me gives a total mass 1.5% lighter, compared to 1% for a bigger built rider. I need to make up on the climbs what I lose on the flat!

Same here! I'm by far the lightest on club runs so I have to pedal like crazy to keep up on the downhills so the climbing is where I can relax

EE Cycleworks are the only aftermarket brakes worth considering when coming from DA.*

Complaining about price while rolling around on Lightweights is quite unbecoming... :P

I thought you might say that, but I did get an extra good deal on the Lightweights...and I'll no doubt be selling my Ultimates to keep her indoors happy....

One thing that's impressed me with the Lightweights is how good the braking is. Not sure if it's the pads or the rim, but don't want to mess with what is good, and DA brakes are known to be pretty much the most powerful out there.

With carbon rims you need as much brake power as you can get.

Yeah, well, still not totally 100% sure I'll sell them; they're great wheels, really very similar to the Lightweights but half the price. Exactly the same construction method.

The front is 10g LIGHTER than the Lightweight, and the rear 20g heavier, so nothing in it really. As I said, I feel the Lightweights roll and brake a bit better, but there's not much in it really.

I did put them up for sale before Xmas at about £900, but unbelievably, no takers!!! Would be more now because the front is almost new. (I swapped it).

photography was never my strong point....

... agree... to get a good shot of a bike, try from a slightly rised point, like a step, looking slightly downwards at the bike, if you are tall you don't even need to. The reverse is likely to make the bike look odd and shots from an angle make the wheels look disproportionate compared ot the rest of the bike. And mind the light, in photo 3 you've got the sun in front of you.
I think this is a good shot that represents what I mean (whether you like the subject or not 9.5 Kg without the bottle... ).
And the fish eye is a no no, obviously...

Bike looks lovely, but then I'm biased as I've got the same frame/colour (though with Mavic C40s and not such plush wheels as yours)
  • Very nice bike, what year frame is that? (sorry, haven't read the full thread).

How are you enjoying it in cross build?

It's end 2012, it was the first Medium in France!

Not sure what cross build means?!

I think 'cross build means there was some confusion with the bike Ugo posted rather than yours.
