Genesis Equilibrium build

Evening Folks,
Some of you may have seen my 50 million questions regarding certain details relating to this project. It's taken a litle time but finally it's starting to come together.
Ignore the wheels for now, I just wanted to prop it up on something. The frameset is obviously an Equilibrium 20 with the 725 tubing in 54cm size. I'm going to say the cliché thing: the photos do not do it justice. The red is lovely an deep in person, I couldn't be happier with it.
With it being a modern frame in a modern sloping geometry I've not kidded myself trying to make it look retro. This will be a thoroughly up to date build.
Deda 2 stem with some carbon spacers.
Deda RMH 02 bars.
>
Shimano R451 long drop brakes.
The rest of the kit is coming from my current plastic bike; that being a full Ultegra 6700 grey groupset, hope hoops, deda drittisimo seatpost and specialized romin evo saddle.
I'll be using some SKS chromoplastic mudguards once it's all sorted. One thing left to decide is some cages, anyone have any ideas?

It looks like the saddle to bar distance is going to be much too short, comparing it with your other bike.0
-
the zero setback seatpost doesn't work for me, with that headtube height and top tube I'd expect a longer stem and less spacers underneath. classic drop bars would be my preference also.0

10mm longer stem is on its way already, I miss-calculated the geo when I got this one. Also 5mm of spacers are getting removed. After that this will be set up pretty much bang on what the Look was.
Tough crowd :?Look 566 viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12892775&p=18015091#p18015091

Finished!!!!! (apart from the steerer)
Just finished the build tonight and have to say I'm smitten. Hopefully I should get out on it tomorrow and have a little ride report and some better photos.

Is this to replace the 566?0

For the moment it is but that's only because I need to save up for the DA9000 the Look is gonna have. So the Look will be back even stronger in a few months.Look 566 viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12892775&p=18015091#p18015091

Just being nosey. The 566 is on my short list for next bike. Was worried for a while :?0 -
What weight is the Genesis coming in at?
I have one built with full Rival, 36 hole Ambrosio Excellence / DuraAce, Ritchey Carbon post, WCS stem, SKS Chromo plastics and it's coming in at 10kg.0 -
I have no idea at the moment I'm afraid. It doesn't feel all that heavy as it is at the moment but it is sans guards right now and has some nice tyres on it. Hopefully I'll get to the LBS on Friday and I can have it weighed there just for interests sake.Look 566 viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12892775&p=18015091#p18015091

Right then I had my first proper ride on her today and I couldn't be happier. I won't fill my post with buzz words about steel, it isn't hugely different to my Look, but you certainly can feel what people say about steel. It's all very subtle and that's a good thing; I wouldn't have been happy with something really sluggish. I would recommend one of these frames to anyone, it really isn't an expensive way into quality steel.
Anyway I got a few snaps that hopefully please the eye a bit better than my living room.

They are Vittora Open Corsa SCs in 23mm. They come in 25mm now so when these need replacing I think I'll go with that. Lovely tyres but only really for summer so unfortunately I've taken them off tonight for something a little tougher as I noticed some cuts in the SCs. They should go back on in a month or two.
Thanks for all the kind words btw.Look 566 viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12892775&p=18015091#p18015091

The wheelbase is longer also which is more forgiving.0
