Based on advice from 'Pottssteve', I took part in the Volta Limburg sportive at the weekend. Similar route to the Amstel Gold sportive, but no lottery to get on it.

I did the 150km route (120km and 85km also available) with 2200m of climbing. I think there were 16 categorised climbs listed but I lost count as they just kept on coming one after the other after the other after the other...6% for 1500m does not sound challenging but having done it at least a dozen times before, it does not make for much chat on the final few burgs!
I can thoroughly recommend it (if you like that sort of thing!) even though I was saying "never again" immediately afterwards.
