You would be a fool not to... just follow the brown "L'Eroica" signs... enjoy

Chainti is one of the best cycling regions in Europe IMO. The L'eroica cycling festival is held in Gaiole every October and there's a permanent route of 208km marked by the distinctive L'eroica signs as Ugo says - memorable for the 50km of white roads. Head from Gaiole to Castello Brolio - ride the dirt road/drive up to the castle and the run down the other side is glorious. Other memorable parts are the white road ride up to Montelcino and the swoopy tarmac descent, plus the 'bumps' from Asciano to Monte Sainte Marie. Be careful if you go exploring - some of the dirt roads climb skyward at over 30% and simply finish at a large villa or castle at the top of a hill - lovely views!
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
