Fork upgrade spesh 29er

Hi,
I have a specialized hardrock sport 2013 29er which has served me well, but I'd like to start upgrading the various components starting with the forks.
Now, I'm a noob when it comes to bike maintenance, but I'm keen on learning and having a go myself so plan on buying and fitting new forks myself.
Thing is, I have no idea what to look for,
I have the stock fitted : 80mm-travel SR Suntour fork with preload adjustment, lockout and size-specific spring rate
Bike is used occasionally for commuting but mostly for trails (sherwood pines) and budget upto around £350
The whole tapered 1.5" to 1-1/8" Tapered Steerer, 15mm Maxle (example) means absolutely nothing to me. Ha
What should I be looking for?
Are new forks easy to fit?

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
I guess I'd need the "100mm - 9mm Q/R - 1 1/8" version of these forks and not the "100/120mm - 15mm MaxleLite - Tapered"?0 -
