Can anyone tell me which bearings I need to service these hubs? also am I right in thinking they are rebadged Novatec F482? they look similar but are a slightly different shape.

    Hi There

If the bearings are rebadged Novatec F482 the this is what you need :-

    Drive Side - 15 x 28 x 7
    Non-drive side - 15 x 24 x 5

Also I could direct you to my step by step guide to the replacement process here, 2nd last post in thread:-

I think if memory serves me that I sourced the replacements from simplybearings

+1 for simply bearings, give them a call and they'll help you.

What if they are rebadged Novatec 162? In that case it will be different

  • The body looks more 162 but the NDS end cap looks F482... Are the free hub bodys the same type B1?

The 162 has an A type, so 12 mm axle, if you have a 15 mm axle and B 1 type, then it's probably a 482... anyway... knock them off and measure them, no?

  • Will do, just wanted to order bits first then dismantle (wrong way round I know). Planet X are saying the rear hub takes 2x 6802 bearings?! going by BDOP that doesn't match up with with either a 162 or 482...confused. Or PX are wrong.

Well, it is neither, but if you open the hub caps you will clearly see which bearings you need... the two diameters will dictate the width, hence the size

err, no it doesn't! the two diameters just give you the two diameters. There are normally more than one width available for each combination of diameter. In the case of 15x24 there are three (5,7,10) But you might see the bearing number on the side. On the other hand the standard width for a 15x24 is indeed 5. Best go with Shaeffler (FAG) of SKF.
  • So I pulled the free hub and axle, turns out its not a Novatec hub at all but CHOSEN.
