Damaged Brake Surface

I posted earlier about my brakes grinding on my new front wheel and it turns out that the braking surface is now damaged with some scouring and nicks on it. I cleaned the pads up at lunch time so I could get home and found lots of metal imbedded on them. Not sure how or why this happened as the rim is brand new and only has 2 miles on it getting me to work! After the 2 miles back home again, there was another quite large bit of metal imbedded on one of the blocks again.
Anyway, I'm getting some new pads but just wondered what can be done with the braking surface so this doesn't happen again? As I said, there seems to be some scouring around the surface and some nicks in places too.

I get that with new Swissstop green pads, I just dig the bits out and generally this is the end of it.0

I dug the bits out for the ride home but there was another large bit of metal in the right hand pad when I got home. Just worried that the rim may be damaged or even faulty in some way as, like I said, the wheel has done just about 4 miles now after being fitted brand new on Tuesday!0

Sounds very odd I would be taking back to the place I bought it and posting detailed pics on here to see if anyone could assess the damage independantly.0

I called the place where I got and and they said it sounded like I had something on the brake block that did it rather than a fault. I'll see if I can get some pics on later.0
