I have done a search for this and can't find much info,
What pedals are decent for £50-£60, last year I had PD-R540 pedals, they were ok, but seemed very 'clunky'
What other pedals are good? I am not brand specific as I have no shoes/cleats at the moment, so I have free reign really

+1 for the Shimano 105 carbon pedals. I picked up a pair last week and I am happy with them. That is a good price, I paid £58.0

Also check out the Exustar Look-compatible pedals (they make the Garmin vector pedals). For equivalent spec pedals, they're a lot cheaper than Look:
