Chain advice

Hi,
I'm looking at getting a spare chain for my bike and I'm after some advice.
I have a Cube Sting 29er with stock parts, so a Shimano Deore, FC-M612 chainset, Front Derailleur: Shimano SLX FD-M671-D, direct mount, Down Swing, 3x10-speed and Rear Derailleur: Shimano XT, RD-M781-SGSL, Shadow 10-speed.
I had a chat with my LBS and they've suggested a Shimano Deore XT HG94 10 Speed HGX Chain which is fine but then I've read some reviews that say its not so good and has snapped on people.
Also with a 29er should I go for a 116 link over a 114 link?
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

Sram chains for me
I had a Shimano Deore XT HG94 which wore out very quickly, I replaced it with a SRAM PC1051(at half the price) and got over twice the miles out of it, same riding conditions as well
Hope this helpsSpecialized Camber Expert
