Gloves For Longer Rides

Hi,
I am starting to venture into what I would call longer rides ( over 6 hours.) I have always used a mix of 661 Raji/Comp gloves in the summer and Sealskinz/ Endura Roubaix in colder weather. I am finding that on longer rides these gloves are not comfortable enough, and I am suffering from sore hands.
I have changed to ergon grips which are helping, but on prolonged sections of rough singletrack (multiple Cwmcarn Laps) I am still suffering sore palms and and fingers.
So have any of you longer distance riders got any glove recommendations? Have you found a glove that offers extra comfort/padding for longer riding!
Many Thanks,
Paul Slade

I think most riders would suffer sore hands after 6 hours. Have you got bar ends to change your hand position.Planet X Kaffenback 2

My Club mitts are well padded, and really comfy on longer rides. That said, my hands are still going to hurt after several hours in the saddle. Brake hoods also make a difference, I really like the campag hoods over Shimano but the angle can be tricky to get just right for the most comfortable fit.WyndyMilla Massive Attack | Rourke 953 | Condor Italia 531 Pro | Boardman CX Pro | DT Swiss RR440 Tubeless Wheels

Have you tried carbon bars and foam grips?
Road bike gloves, just a thought.0 -
what does dave buchanan use? he'd be the man to ask?
oh, and that was a very polite way to sign off your post lol0 -
I do regular 5-6 hour rides, I find gloves or mitts with Gel sections much more forgiving than any other type of padding.Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.0

Thanks all for your replies, even Kev lol.

Hoods? You do realise what section you're posting in, right? Not sure what you're a doctor of, but optometry it clearly isn't.
As for the gloves, you might find it's your grips that are the problem. Personally, I find palm padding a total annoyance and promotes more blisters and discomfort than it ever tries to solve. I would rather tune comfort using grips and leave my gloves to just prevent blisters. How would I write my own epitaph? With a crayon - I'm not allowed anything I can sharpen to a sustainable point.
