Any recommendations on a pair of fingerless padded gloves, not fussed about labels or fancy brands just a nicely made comfortable padded pair in black.

I picked up a pair from Planet X, £4.99 and they have been well worth the money.

    Mitts they're called.

Fit is very personal though - what fits one persons hand might not fit another.

Mavic Espoir have always served me well, and I am a bit crashy.

I quite like the Specialized BG mitts - there are various types on offer - my preference is for the ones with the adjustable velcro straps for a better fit. The various Spesh mitts also vary in the amount of padding they have on the contact points and I think it's important you try on various pairs as everyone seems to have their own preference on amount of padding for best balance between comfort/ isolation/ feedback through the bars.
