rubber cable protectors
could be and probably is one of the stupidest threads I've ever created BUT I recently replaced my RD cable and forgot to put the rubber disc protectors back on the cable. Is it worth cutting them and slipping them back on carefully or will I have to remove the cable and its crimped end and slide them on properly. Going to add some to my FD and brake cables too.

They're only there to protect the frame from cable slap.
But if you really want to though, I would cut the rubber with a sharp knife, put the rubber on the cable and using a tiny amount of superglue, glue together again whilst trying not to get glue on the cable.
