With Roubaix coming up and the outright record for wins possibly being beaten or maybe Cancellara joining De Vlaeminck and Boonen on 4 wins, wondered who is currently the best?

I'd go for De Vlaeminck. His record in PR is quite astounding. He rode it on 14 occasions, winning four times (1972, 1974, 1975, 1977), finished second four times, third once, fifth once, sixth once, seventh twice and abandoned only in 1980.

Maybe this is a bit of a none question?

I agree, that is a fairly peerles record. competition was just as stiff, he could just ride that race so well.

Boonen Canc is slightly more difficuult but in recent encounters Cancellara has the edge

impossible to compare different eras, though i know what de Vlaeminck himself would say!

Of Boonen and Cancellara, Boonen has the better overall record on the kasseien, and had racked up a handful of decent wins before Cancellara really cracked it with his 2006 Roubaix victory. Since then they've been neck and neck, I'd say.
