A slightly wider tyre

I have the potential (rims and frame ) to run wider tyres that I currently do. Michelin Pro 4 endurances have been a favourite, being the best compromise between speed, puncture resistance, grip in the wet and price. I have not specific desire to change or stay the same. What I was contemplating was moving up a touch in size from 25mm as a few bigger tyres are now appearing.
I want a nice ride that doesn't feel as if its slowing me down. Challenge do the Paris Roubaix in 27mm as one possibility. Go big fat Contis for the winter wheels so it nice summer tyres (bearing in mind British weather and roads) that I was after.
Any experiences or suggestions?

For summer I'd go for Schwalbe One or "new" Conti GP4000s II (when they're available)

Bear in mind that Michelin tyres run quite wide. Their 25mm tyres often measure 28mm on many rims so effectively you may be running 28mm tyres already.
If you really want to go wide, you could get some 32mm or even 38mm Grand Bois tyres. They'll offer you a completely different riding experience.

Challenge Strada Bianca is a nice 30... same for the Almanzo, which is faster on tarmac than you would expect and does off road too.
For touring and puncture free mileage Vittoria Randonneur PRO 32 is actually 29

My last set of Pro4 Endurance 25mm were actually closer to 27mm.

My Pro's ran at 26 on the rims they would be on. Been wondering about those Strada B's as well

I run Continental GP 4 Seasons on all bikes and they are 25mm. Brilliant and easy to fit, just a bit pricey.

I have Vittoria Pave (24mm I think) on my good bike and they are big enough for pretty rough roads and feel nice and supple at 90PSI on my Archetype rims (a bit wider than 'normal' rims).

I have 32mm Randonneur Pro's on my commuter and would ride over pretty much anything in those, they really are good. Haven't pushed them in terms of grip yet but they've been fine over the winter.

Oh, one thing though, the Randonneur Pros are noticeably more handwork that thinner tyres as they are quite heavy, good news is that this is great for training and I fly when I get back on my good bike.

My pro4 service course were over 27mm.

They were also over 3mm higher than the 23mm version, which is what made them not fit my frame and forks...

I'm worth it! Will be interesting to see if they're as plush as they are made out to be

Spot on. I have those Vittorias on my hybrid which does mainly roads and cycle paths. Really nice tyres, seem bulletproof, reasonably quick and 29mm exactly.
