new chain req or not

Im using a kmc chain which has been on for about 4 months,ive just had a link break on it and ive got spare ones when i first had to size it so would it be ok to replace it with one of these and keep on the bike or is this only ok for emergency repairs then get another new chain?

    Your chain may be fine but you will need a chain wear indicator to check, its best to be proactive as excessive chain wear increases wear on cassette and chainrings.

    I'd be wary of trying to fit a new link as if you'd don't get it spot on, it may well come apart in the same place again. There's a saying, "there's no such thing as a broken chain, just an incorrectly installed chain", and I've never felt confident replacing links.
