Hey all,

Looking at getting back into road riding with a budget of around £600 (or less lol) and came across this...

http://www.merlincycles.com/sensa-trentino-sl-ltd-edition-68373.html?source=aw&awc=3361_1396045598_48d3c611ba9ea9c4955ad8fe0ee06f6e

Looks a decent spec, decent weight (if figures are correct) but I have never heard of Sensa, are they decent enough?

Thanks
Kev

I am sure that when I holidayed in Fuerte Venture in 2012 at all in inlcusive resort which had sport facilities they used Sensa road bikes. The colour scheme was red/white/black so I cannot tell if it was this model or not. I compared, in my head, the frame with my bikes at home and concluded that the Sensa frame was very similar to my Ribble Winter Audax bith in terms of geometry and tube shape/size.

I rode the Sensa on three rides varying from 35 miles to 56 miles. It was fine and felt just like my aluminium bike at home (Ribble Audax) but wasn't as comfortable as the Ribble Gran Fondo I have.

The strange thing was all the frame sizing was odd - 53cm, 55cm and 57cm.

I think the frame said assembled in Austria or something similar suggesting Sensa were an Austrian Ribble or PlanetX.

According to the Merlin site, Sensa are Dutch.

I was looking at their bikes the other day on Merlin and thought they seemed decent value.

Yeah I have the exact same frame but mine is full ultegra. Raced on mine all last season a good stiff frame and people couldn't believe how light it was. If you get one you won't regret it.

I've got a Trentino SL, I love it, great value for money too. Although they are new(ish) to the UK, Sensa have been around a while in Holland, and the Trentino has been used by a few junior race teams that Sensa sponsor.

Actually it's my second Trentino, after a car driver drove into me last year knocking me off my bike and writing off the frame.

The quoted weight is "dependent on spec" - I very much doubt an alloy frame with Tiagra and a basic wheelset would come in under 8kg as claimed. Doesn't look too shabby for the price, though.

Heres one with 105/Tiagra spec at 8.7Kg which seems a bit more realistic
